Nice Airport to Cannes: your private transfer, price and journey time

From the arrivals hall to the Croisette in under an hour: what a private transfer to Cannes costs, how it works and when other options make more sense.

In short

A private driver from Nice Côte d'Azur airport to the Palais des Festivals in Cannes costs €57 on a weekday during the day, tolls included, for about 29 km and 47 min. The official taxi fixed fare to Cannes is €85. With a pre-booked driver, the price is fixed in advance and your flight is tracked.

Price of a private transfer from Nice airport to Cannes

The fare follows a published scale: €10 pick-up charge, then €1.50 per km in the Alpes-Maritimes (06), €2.50 per km in the Var (83) and €1.80 per km in Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël, plus tolls on the A8 motorway. To the Palais des Festivals, that is €57 on a weekday during the day, for the car and up to 4 passengers. At night (9 pm to 7 am), on Sundays and public holidays, add 20 %: the same transfer at night comes to €67.

The price is confirmed in writing when you book. It does not change if the motorway is busy or if your plane lands late.

How long is the drive?

About 47 min for 29 km, mostly on the A8. During the Cannes Film Festival in May, Cannes Lions in June or the big trade fairs (MIPIM in March, MIPCOM in October), access to the Croisette is regulated: your driver knows the authorised drop-off points, but leave extra time.

Bus 81 leaves from the Terminal 2 bus station. It is a good budget choice, but it stops along the way and does not drop you at your hotel door.

Business trips and events in Cannes

Many travellers come to Cannes for a congress or a trade fair at the Palais des Festivals. A driver can also take you to Sophia Antipolis, Mougins or Monaco for meetings, wait during an appointment and invoice your company. See our business travel service or send your programme by WhatsApp.

Booking from abroad

Send your flight number, terminal, number of passengers and the address in Cannes by WhatsApp or email. Sébastien, a French driver who drives every booking himself, confirms the fare before your trip. English messages are welcome. More details in how to book a private driver from abroad.

Staying beyond Cannes?

Cannes is often the base for trips across the western Riviera. From the Croisette, the perched village of Mougins, the perfume town of Grasse and the beaches of Antibes are all close. A driver can take you there for a dinner, a visit or a full day, with the car waiting at each stop. Ask for an hourly booking if your programme has several stops.

The return trip to Nice airport

For your flight home, the pick-up time is agreed with you the day before. Your driver takes into account traffic on the A8 and the time needed for check-in and security. During festivals and trade fairs, when hundreds of guests leave Cannes at the same time, booking the return together with the arrival is strongly recommended.

Travelling as a group

The car carries up to 4 passengers with luggage. For a larger group, a film crew or a delegation, several vehicles can be coordinated with trusted fellow drivers, with one person to deal with for the whole schedule.

Staying on the Croisette? Give the hotel name and, if possible, the entrance you prefer. Several hotels have a side entrance that is easier to reach during events.
