How much is a Nice airport transfer to Monaco?
With Azuriva VTC, the price is based on a published scale: a pick-up charge of €10, then €1.50 per km in the Alpes-Maritimes (06), €2.50 per km in the Var (83) and €1.80 per km in Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël, plus motorway tolls. Each kilometre is charged at the rate of the area where it is driven. For the airport to Monaco, that gives €61 during the day on a weekday, for the whole car (up to 4 passengers and 4 suitcases), not per person.
At night (9 pm to 7 am), on Sundays and on French public holidays, a 20 % surcharge applies. The same trip at night comes to €73. Both surcharges are never added together.
How long does it take?
Allow around 50 min for roughly 32 km. Your driver chooses between the A8 motorway and the coastal roads depending on traffic. During big events in Monaco, such as the Grand Prix in late May or early June, the Principality restricts access to some streets: plan more time and book early.
Private driver, taxi, bus or train?
| Option | Price | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Private driver (pre-booked) | €61 per car, daytime | Fixed fare, flight tracking, door to door, driver known in advance |
| Official taxi | €95 fixed fare to Monaco | Taxi rank on the arrivals level, no booking needed |
| ZOU! bus 80 | Low fare per person | Leaves from the Terminal 2 bus station towards Monaco and Menton, with luggage on your lap or in the hold |
| Train | Low fare per person | You first need to reach a railway station, then walk or take a bus in Monaco |
For a solo traveller with a small bag and no time pressure, the bus is hard to beat. For a family, a business arrival or a late flight, a pre-booked car is the simplest option.
What happens on arrival
- You book online, by WhatsApp or by email, with your flight number and terminal.
- Sébastien confirms the booking and the fixed price in writing.
- The day before, you receive his phone number and the meeting point in the arrivals hall of your terminal.
- If your flight is delayed, the pick-up time follows the real landing time.
- Your driver helps with the luggage and drops you at your hotel, apartment or the port.
Who is your driver?
Azuriva VTC is run by Sébastien Hogrel, a licensed French private driver (VTC) based in the Var, who drives every booking himself. He is French; messages in English by WhatsApp or email are welcome and he replies personally. Read more about your driver.
Travelling to Monaco for business or an event
Banks, family offices, yacht shows, congresses at the Grimaldi Forum: many arrivals in Monaco are business trips with a tight schedule. Your driver can wait during a meeting, chain several appointments between Monaco, Nice and Sophia Antipolis, and issue an invoice in your company's name. For a full day of meetings, ask for an hourly booking (mise à disposition) rather than separate rides.
During the Monaco Grand Prix, usually in late May or early June, traffic plans change from one day to the next and some drop-off points close. Book as early as possible and share your hotel's access instructions: your driver will plan the most practical drop-off.
The return trip to the airport
For your departure, the same driver can collect you at your hotel or residence. The pick-up time is agreed with you, taking into account traffic on the A8, check-in and security at Nice airport. Booking both directions at once is the simplest way to travel with peace of mind.
Tip: give the exact address in Monaco (hotel, residence or berth number). Some streets of the Principality are one-way or pedestrian, and a precise address saves time.
